Story

Fear The Cowboy is a brand born of scarcity.

It started with a twist of fate and an Acapulco shirt. It was made from beautiful handmade Osakan fabric cut in a classic 50’s style that’s difficult to find in contemporary fashion. Of course, I wanted another one. I looked everywhere, from mainstream brands to high-fashion houses. Their collections were disappointing. Most are untailored and blousy. Worse, the material is almost always light, fragile rayon or polyester. I wanted a stylishly tailored shirt made out of gorgeous fabric.

So the answer to my problem was simple. I had one made. I took the shirt to a pattern maker and told her the exact alterations I wanted. A year of thought and research went by. A dozen prototypes were made. There were trips to New York City for manufacturing and trips to Paris, Africa and Asia to find (precious few) distributers that carry limited-run, ultra-premium fabrics.

The result? Each FTC shirt is made from our original pattern. They’re not cut to follow trends, they’re cut to follow the male form. They’ll make you look elegant. The shorter length will make you look taller. The boxy fit broadens the shoulders; the wide, short sleeves will accentuate your arms. There are subtle details only the wearer will notice. On many, the pocket is matched. This requires more fabric but is a sign of quality in the tailoring. Depending on style, each shirt comes with the high-quality buttons crafted from coconuts, river shells or mother of pearl. The bottom button is randomly selected on our short-sleeve styles.

We choose to stay exclusive. We use some of the most exclusive fabrics on earth. Often the local artisans that craft our fabric only produce it once. Because of this, our collections are limited. Very limited.

We produce shirts that reflect our company philosophy of providing the highest quality Acapulco shirts your friends don’t have. In our estimation, that’s a good thing.
